08/24/05 - Climbing on Detroit Buildings Donnie & I decided to get some 40's on Tuesday & I brought up the fact that I saw a new MONEY tag on this building by Comerica & that we should climb up there. So after we got some 40's in Mexicantown we headed over there to see what we could do about getting on this roof.
When you're 6'3", 245lbs. it's nice to have someone with agility with you to climb roofs. Donnie showing why he'd be Tony Amonte if we were playing NHL 2000. \
So we got onto the roof with the MONEY tag & I noticed that there was a fire escape leading up the 10 story building right next to it. Of course we had to climb it. \
Once up there we took in the great view of buildings surrounding us. \
Looking up Woodward Avenue \
This was on the far north side of the building looking down & gives an aspect of how high we were; even though neither Donnie or I were going anywhere near that edge. \
A view where you can see the lights of Comerica (where I was just 4 hours earlier) & Ford Field. The pictures are a bit blurry because my camera has some trouble at night without a tripod. \
After that we were tired & took a break using the chairs that were up there. Donnie doing his best Jude Law impression with ripped jeans. \
Navi doing his best Rayden impression. \
Other than that, we saw this warning on some heating unit while up there... \
Donnie yelled at some guy walking down the road who had no idea where the voice was coming from. \
So we had our bit of fun up there; took it all in & headed back down the fire escape. Climbed a heating duct (Dziamarski would be excited) and shot a picture of what our main goal was...the MONEY tag! Sort of anti-climatic eh? Navi (click above to return to the main page) |
