I wouldn't say problem solving skills are a personal forté of mine by any means; but yesterday I exercised them quite nicely.  You see; Kayla had asked me to go watch her friend's band play at the Chubby Pickle...and loud alternative music combined with being at the Chubby Pickle meant I needed to pre-game.  The problem with that, was that Mike Mussina was facing Eric Bedard in baseball and I needed to watch it; but that meant I needed a functioning internet connection...hmm...

So I solved the problem by pre-gaming in the University Library while using up their wireless network to watch Bedard duel the Moose.

The only other news I have is that Clarkson isn't leaving after all...as I got this e-mail from the horse's mouth today:

"Durocher get rid of that update about me.  I just got a job today in Windsor so I am not moving. [irrelevant talk about baseball.]"

Shawn

You can't blame me for not checking my sources; because my source, after-all, was in fact, Clarkson.  So try to find an Englishman and get your money back for that Beck's you purchased.

I updated all the right side stuff today. For some people that's the highlight of this website; so hopefully they enjoy.

In personal news, I broke my bike forks clean off, doing a flat ground 180. If this would have happened on any other object, I would have been in trouble.

In Clarkson news, he's alerted me that he's moving to Alberta sometime in September. So if you see him, buy him some of that shitty English beer he likes; you know Becks, Tetley's...&c.

So now, Monaghan, Ingram & Clarkson have all moved (or plan to); I guess when you all live around a city that solely bases it's resources on a useless overpass and underage-haven of a downtown, people will move.

God speed, Clarkson.

I've been slacking of late; so I'm going to try and take a "more frequent-smaller updates" strategy.

With that in mind, here's a small lifestyle update with interesting pictures from my 9 day road trip from Kitchener to Milton to Barrie to Penetanguishene and finally, Toronto.

A lot of the time pictures fall through the cracks and are never seen because they occur on a day where I'm not particularly doing anything.  Well, here's a lifestyle update catching up 43 pictures and stories.

Also, you should check out Wikipedia's article on Puce.  It's so informative and interesting.  Heck, I didn't know half of those facts about Puce.

Lastly, here's the last posting of the 2006 hockey pool.  It'll no longer be attached to the top of the page.

Inspired by someone actually telling me that she enjoys the Detroit updates (that's a first); I hustled with Donnie and got over to the Broderick Tower.  The coverage of the building can be found here.

MCS - Michigan Central Train Station

Firstly, I took care of the number 2 building on my dream list of Detroit buildings.  I finally think maybe some people will know where this is from crossing the Ambassador Bridge.  Anyway, it's the MCS - the Michigan Central Train Station.

Secondly, I went to a new skatepark in Michigan called Oakland Vert and it was absolutely terrible.  I criticize it and give suggestions for improvement here.  Much of that article will be over a lot of people's heads.

Lastly, lets examine my audience for this website.  About 15% care about my Detroit excursions...about 10% care about biking; leaving about 75% that wont care about this update.  Hmm...ok, here we go...

So I'm at Kayla's friend's house and her friend is bringing out Cardinal Carter yearbooks.  No word of a lie, I open one and the first page I turn to, I spot my first girlfriend Tara Radu and start cracking up.  Her friend looks at me like I'm insane so I explain that she was my first girlfriend and she broke up with me after 6 days because I wasn't moving fast enough.  Emily asks why I didn't move any faster and I had to explain the roadblock I encountered.  You see, back then, I would go to her apartment and we'd reach first base all day long (sorta like Joe Mauer); well my cousin Russ tells me, "Adam, you need to move along...go up her shirt..."  And boy was I in trouble because the next times we were reaching first base (sorta like Joe Mauer), I was thinking the whole time..."how am I going to go from making out with this girl, to sticking my head up her shirt?"  See back then, (and up to about grade 12), I thought "going up a girl's shirt" meant that you take your head, stretch their shirt from there stomachs and put your head up there.  Thankfully, we only made out 2 more times after Russ told me that and both times she was wearing a tight shirt where I didn't think I could get my fat head up there.  Thank God.

Then she broke up with me for not moving fast enough with the whole head up the shirt thing.

Ps. Inside joke alert re: Joe Mauer...if your name isn't (a) Scott Woodall (b) Ryan Roach or (c) Shawn Clarkson...just ignore that part.
